TA MorphSplit
is a LightWave, Modeler LSC that will perform the same kind of Automatic, _smooth_, L/R split of your model that TA Facial Animation does, but will create separate Morph Shapes you can use in a Game Engine or Morph Mixer!
Why:
TA Facial Animation has many parts to it that can save hours or days of working time... not the least of which is its ability to smoothly split Symmetrical Morphs across the X=0 Axis, so you, or your Modelers, don't have to go through this arduous process yourselves.
But what happens when, for whatever reason, you can't use .MDD animation to drive your mesh – what if you need to use Morphs (If you're working within a Game Engine, or if your internal network doesn't take kindly to large .MDD files being shuttled back and forth)?
A recent feature film was using TAFA and had chosen to apply TAFA's animation via Morph Mixer, and so I wrote this script to make their character modeler's work-lives just a bit easier!
